From Alexander to Dana to Robeson, the world of Rutgers University Libraries is wide open to you. All Rutgers alumni have borrowing privileges and can make use of the library system’s vast resources.

Online Resources

Visiting a bricks-and-mortar Rutgers library gives you access to most indexes, databases, and journal collections. But the libraries have also provided a collection of bibliographic databases and other resources that you can access remotely. It’s a huge resource and it’s available to all alumni.

License Plates

  • New Jersey

    Plates can be purchased as standard or personalized plates. The standard plate will have a four-digit number assigned to you. The cost for a standard plate is $100. It takes eight to ten weeks to receive a standard plate from the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC).

    The personalized plate has up to five characters; the first three must be letters and the last two characters can be letters or a number above 20. The combination of three alpha characters starting with a “D” followed by numbers 1-99 cannot be used*. The personalized plate does not have the “RU” on the right hand side of the plate. The cost for a personalized plate is $150. It takes ten to sixteen weeks to obtain a personalized plate from the NJMVC.

    *Other exclusions apply as well. Each request must be approved by the NJMVC. Please submit several personalization choices and the RUAA will confirm availability with the NJMVC.

    Standard License Plate

    Pennsylvania

    Rutgers Block R license plates are available in Pennsylvania. The standard plate will have a four-digit number assigned to you. The cost for a standard plate is $88. Personalized plates contain up to five letters or numbers in combination.

    If you would like to purchase a standard Pennsylvania Rutgers license plate, please fill out sections A and E on the application form. If your car is leased, form ML-1L must be filled out and sent as well. Mail the signed application(s) and a check for $88 made out to Rutgers University Foundation to:

    Personalized License Plate

    If you would like to purchase a personalized Pennsylvania Rutgers license plate, please fill out sections A, D, and E on the application form. If your car is leased, form ML-1L must be filled out and sent as well. Mail the signed application(s) and a check for $216 made out to Rutgers University Foundation to the address above.

    After the checks and application are received, the RUAA will place your order with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Your plates will be sent directly to your home. The process takes six to eight weeks.
